Barber Preparatory Academy is a 1920’s school building located in Highland Park MI, and required renovation of the library for its current K-8 school program. Working within a limited budget, Highland Park School District required a high impact and transformational design solution to inspire students.   Serving as architect and interior designer, Dokes Design collaborated with school staff and administration to develop a new floor plan, art installation, decorative light fixtures, and new FF&E package.  To ensure the project had the design impacted visualized by school administration, Dokes Design raised money for the project to afford specific design features, which elevated the creative approach to the project.  Dokes Design also provided FF&E specification and vendor coordination for the project.
